How were your intentional and continual in your prayer this week and what did you learn from it?

Questions:

  • Do you have different circles of friends? Such as, school friends, church friends, neighborhood friends, work friends, etc that don’t really interact with the other groups?
    • What are the differences in those groups? In which groups is your faith clearly represented?
    • How do your behavior change based on which group you are with?
  • What are some ways your friends impact you?
    • How do they influence your choices?
      • Do they ever contribute to giving in or overcoming temptation? In what ways?
    • How do they influence your beliefs?
      • What things you consider sin
      • How vocal you are about the gospel
      • Believing non Biblical ideas such as
        • Karma
        • Fate
        • Reincarnation
        • Mother earth
        • Evolution
        • Universalism-All who worship, worship the same higher being.
        • Etc…
  • What are some characteristics of good friends or good company?
  • To contrast that, what are some signs that you may be in bad company?
  • If we are to be salt and light to the world, how do we balance that with our choice of friends?

Challenge:

Take an inventory of your friends. Pray over each group, first for them, and then for how they should influence you and you impact them. Set boundaries for groups that you are a light to and ask God if there are any friendships you need to cut off or strengthen. Share these boundaries with a friend who will keep you accountable to them.
