While Jesus was still living on Earth, he sent out 72 believers to go out and minister in his name as active participants in sharing the gospel. God desires for each of his followers, including you, to be deployed within their sphere of influence, as laborers for the gospel. If a person struggles with this responsibility to share and spread the gospel, have they truly understood and accepted the gospel themselves? Have they called on Jesus as Savior, but rejected Him as Lord?
If you are a follower of Christ, you have been “sent out.” Looking at your influence, friend group, etc., where has God sent you with the message of the gospel?
In what ways have you faithfully shared the gospel in your sphere of influence? In what ways have you not been faithful?
When the 72 returned, they were amazed that they were actually effective workers for the gospel. In what ways do you doubt God’s power to 1) work through you, 2) work to change those around you?
In what ways, if any, have you witnessed God’s work in and through you this year?
Being a faithful worker of the harvest requires risk. Its not easy. Its sometimes scary. But its always worth it. Do you believe that? Why or why not? Make this week before the block party count. Who will you invite? When? If there are people you aren’t inviting, why not?
If you’re not burdened for the eternities of those around you, are you actually a believer? Why are you waiting to take this step of faith? Do you only want Jesus as your Savior, not your Lord?
When you meet resistance in sharing the gospel, how will you exercise the grit not to quit?
